Common Clownfish Basics

Assalamualaikum!
This is my first post to explain the needs and deeds of taking care of Common Clownfishes.

As of the movie Finding Nemo by Disney, marine hobbyists have been seeking the famous "Nemo" to be part of their collection in their aquariums.

I've been seeing first hand how the "Nemo" phenomenon came about since the movie came out. I've also been wanting to have the Nemos and Doris to accompany my poor old damsel at the time. *Not a good idea by the way as my yellow damsel have completely adapt to roaming the aquarium alone*

For you new hobbyists out there, I'll tell you the basic steps in taking care of the common Clownfish.

After buying the common clownfish (2 should be adequate to start things off), transfer the fish to the tank immediately. This should make the clownfish swim off to roam its new home. It is particularly vital to keep watch on the new fish as it adapts to its surroundings. A particularly efficient way of speeding up its adaptation is by providing its anemone in the aquarium. The anemone could give protection as the clownfish is immune to its stings.

Do not give it food for exactly 24 hours upon transfer. Let it adapt to the its new environment before providing its food. Common clownfishes have faster adaptation capability so it does not give much of a problem. Then, feed the clownfish and see its food-deprived frenzy. The clownfish would rarely reject the owner's meaningful gesture of food. But in the case that it doesn't appreciate your kindness, keep it in check a further 24 hours without food.

Precautions:
1. Do not overfeed the clownfishes. Higher risk of diseases can occur.
2. Keep the aquarium temperature in the range of 27-30 degrees Celsius. The clownfish is of the Tropical region. If corals is available than 27-28 degrees Celsius is adequate for both.
3. Watch out for white spots as it can easily occur to this species especially after a new aquarium setup. This could lead to death if not treated.
4. Keep juvenile and small clownfish from hostile fishes and shrimps. This is important as the clownfish is gentle creatures and tend to run away. It is better to have one large clownfish to protect the little ones.

I will further update the blog with more info in the near future. Insyaallah.
Assalamualaikum and goodbye for now.
